Description
Prefabricated bar grating stair treads with serrated tops, slip-resistant nosing and bolt-ready carrier plates. Bars 3/4" to 2-1/2" deep in galvanized steel, aluminum or stainless. Ready-to-install footing for stairs.
Stair tread bar grating turns standard grating into ready-to-bolt steps for industrial and commercial staircases. Each tread is a grating panel cut to the stair run, fitted with a slip-resistant nosing along the leading edge and end carrier plates with mounting holes for fast attachment to stair stringers. Serrated bearing-bar tops add traction across the full step, while the nosing marks the edge and improves grip and visibility. Treads are fabricated in carbon steel, aluminum or stainless to match the surrounding platform, in welded, swage-locked or press-locked construction. By delivering a finished, drilled and ready-to-install component, stair tread grating shortens field work and ensures every step in the run shares the same dimensions, strength and safe footing.
Treads use bearing bars 3/4" to 2-1/2" deep, sized to span the stringer spacing while carrying concentrated foot loads. The leading edge receives a nosing, commonly a serrated or abrasive-coated angle, that overlaps the front bearing bars for a defined, high-grip step edge. End plates with punched bolt holes weld to the tread for direct connection to channel or angle stringers. Standard spacings of 19-W-4, 15-W-4 and 11-W-4 are available, with serrated tops standard for safety. Carbon-steel treads are hot-dip galvanized after fabrication, including the nosing and end plates; aluminum suits lightweight or non-sparking needs, and stainless serves corrosive and hygienic settings. Treads are made to common riser-and-run modules or cut to your exact stair geometry and stringer pattern.
Stair tread grating is engineered to meet industrial stair safety requirements, including concentrated point-load capacity at the tread center and the slip resistance expected of code-compliant steps. The serrated top plus nosing addresses anti-slip needs under OSHA-style and IBC stair provisions, and nosing color or finish can highlight the step edge for visibility. Open area of 20% to 89% lets liquids, snow and debris fall through so steps stay clear and drainable. Load tables specify the bearing-bar depth and spacing needed for the tread span and expected traffic. Where small openings are required for safety, close-mesh ADA-style treads reduce gap size. Galvanizing and corrosion-resistant alloys meet outdoor and chemical-duty durability standards so treads last the life of the structure.
Grating stair treads are standard on industrial stairs, equipment access ladders, mezzanine and platform stairways, tank and silo access, and outdoor steel staircases. They are specified throughout manufacturing plants, refineries, water-treatment works, warehouses and parking structures where durable, drainable, slip-resistant steps are required. Serrated treads with nosing perform reliably in wet, oily and snowy conditions, making them ideal for exterior fire escapes and process-area stairs. Aluminum treads reduce weight on portable stairs and roof access, while stainless treads suit food, pharmaceutical and marine environments. Because treads bolt directly to stringers with their factory-drilled end plates, they speed installation on new stairs and simplify replacement of worn or damaged steps on existing structures without custom field fitting.
Zhongman manufactures stair tread grating complete with nosing, end carrier plates and bolt holes, matched to your stringer layout and riser-run dimensions. We offer serrated tops as standard and supply carbon steel, aluminum or stainless in welded, swage-locked or press-locked construction so treads coordinate with your platform grating. Every tread is checked for hole alignment, nosing attachment and overall dimension before hot-dip galvanizing and crating. We provide tread load data, galvanizing certificates and material certificates for code documentation, and can ship matching landings, handrails and platform panels for complete stair packages. With strong fabrication capacity and export experience, Zhongman delivers ready-to-install, safety-compliant stair treads at competitive factory pricing with reliable lead times and responsive technical support.
