Description

Product Introduction

Corrosion-resistant welded mesh in 304 and 316 stainless steel. Clean welded intersections, apertures 1/2" to 4" and wire 0.5-4mm. Ideal for filtration, food handling, marine and architectural work needing hygiene and rust resistance.

Product Overview

Our stainless steel welded wire mesh is manufactured from genuine 304 and 316 grade wire, resistance-welded at every single intersection to form a flat, rigid lattice that holds its shape under load and handling. Because the corrosion resistance is built into the alloy itself rather than relying on a surface coating, the mesh keeps its clean, bright appearance for decades without rusting, flaking, peeling or staining. We supply both flat panels and continuous rolls, with apertures running from 1/2 inch up to 4 inches and wire diameters between 0.5 and 4mm to suit fine and coarse duties alike. This combination of hygiene, strength and visual neatness makes it a genuinely versatile choice for any industry that cannot tolerate contamination or visible corrosion in its installations.

Material & Grade Selection

Grade 304 stainless is the everyday workhorse for indoor, food-contact and general architectural use, offering excellent corrosion resistance at an economical price point that suits most projects. Grade 316 adds molybdenum for markedly superior protection against chlorides, which makes it the correct choice for coastal, marine, swimming-pool and chemical-exposure environments where 304 would eventually pit. Both grades are fully non-magnetic in the annealed condition and weld cleanly without the brittle heat-affected zones that often plague coated carbon steel mesh. We can confirm the exact chemical composition by mill certificate on request, so specifiers and engineers working to strict food-safety, pharmaceutical or marine standards enjoy full material traceability of the alloy supplied in every single batch we ship to them.

Applications

Stainless welded mesh serves a wide and demanding range of roles across many industries. In food and beverage plants it forms hygienic guards, baskets, trays and conveyor screens that withstand repeated high-pressure washdown without corroding. Filtration and separation systems use it as support backing or coarse straining media in liquid and gas streams. Architects regularly specify it for balustrade infill, facade screens, ceilings and decorative partitions where a permanently bright finish is essential to the design intent. Marine and offshore installations rely on the 316 grade for railings, walkways, gratings and equipment enclosures exposed to constant salt spray. Laboratory, pharmaceutical and medical settings also favour it for shelving, baskets and instrument trays that must be sterilised repeatedly without any degradation of the surface.

Specifications & Customisation

Standard apertures range from 1/2 inch through 1, 2 and 3 inch up to 4 inch openings, paired with wire diameters of 0.5 to 4mm to suit the required strength, weight and open area of each job. Panels are cut precisely to your chosen length and width, while rolls are supplied in widths up to 2 metres and lengths to order for larger runs. We can deburr edges, add steel frames, bend flanges or fabricate the mesh into finished baskets, guards and trays ready for installation. Surface options include a mill-bright as-welded finish or a pickled-and-passivated finish that maximises long-term corrosion resistance. Simply tell us the alloy grade, aperture and exact dimensions you require and we will quote precisely to your specification with a clear lead time.
