Welded Wire Mesh
Rigid welded wire-mesh mattress for channel lining, slope revetment and scour protection with a clean engineered finish.

Description
Rigid welded wire-mesh mattress for channel lining, slope revetment and scour protection with a clean engineered finish.
The Welded Gabion Mattress is a low-profile, rigid container built from welded steel wire mesh and divided by welded diaphragms. Filled with rock, it forms a stable, permeable armour layer for channels, slopes and shorelines. Compared with woven mattresses, the welded structure holds a precise, square shape that gives a tidy, engineered appearance and resists deformation under fill and traffic loads.
Welded construction delivers high rigidity and a uniform cell shape, making the mattress easy to lay to line and level for a clean finished surface. Every wire intersection is welded for predictable strength, and the open fill drains freely to relieve uplift. Galvanized or PVC coatings provide corrosion resistance, and flat-pack delivery keeps freight costs low. The result is a durable, good-looking revetment suited to visible urban waterways.
Mattresses are made from welded mesh with a 76 x 38 mm aperture and 2.7–3.0 mm wire, with a Class 3 galvanized coating to ASTM A641 or an optional PVC layer for aggressive water. Standard plan sizes are 6 x 2 m, 9 x 2 m and 12 x 2 m with thicknesses of 0.15 m, 0.23 m and 0.30 m and diaphragms at one-metre centres. Custom sizes and coating classes are available.
Specified for channel and canal lining, riverbank and slope revetment, culvert and spillway aprons, bridge scour protection and reservoir embankments. The clean welded finish makes it a frequent choice for urban river restoration and landscape-sensitive hydraulic works.
