Description
Micro-perforated metal acoustic panels engineered with tuned hole size and open area to absorb sound, controlling noise and reverberation in buildings, machinery enclosures and highway barriers.
Perforated acoustic panels use metal perforation as a precision sound-absorbing tool rather than a screen. When sound waves pass through finely tuned holes and meet an acoustic infill or air cavity behind, their energy is converted to heat and damped. Zhongman manufactures micro-perforated acoustic facings in aluminum, galvanized and stainless steel with hole sizes from 0.5 mm to 3 mm and carefully controlled open areas. The same perforated sheet can be paired with mineral wool, acoustic fleece or a calibrated air gap to target specific frequency ranges. Because the absorption depends on hole size, sheet thickness, open area and cavity depth working together, we treat this as an acoustically engineered product designed to a noise-reduction target, not a generic perforated sheet.
The key advantage is tunable, durable noise control: by adjusting hole diameter and open area we shift the absorption peak to the frequencies that matter in your space, whether speech clarity in an office or low-frequency rumble around machinery. Metal facings are far more robust, hygienic and fire-resistant than fabric or foam absorbers, so they suit washdown, outdoor and high-traffic environments where soft absorbers fail. Micro-perforation can be made so fine that the panel reads as nearly solid yet still absorbs, preserving a clean architectural look. Panels are non-combustible (A1/A2 fire rating in steel and aluminum), moisture-proof and easy to clean, and they can carry any architectural finish while still performing acoustically.
Acoustic open area is deliberately low to moderate, typically 1% to 25%, with hole diameters from 0.5 mm micro-perforation up to 3 mm, because absorption depends on resistance through the holes, not maximum openness. Facing thickness runs 0.6-2 mm in aluminum, galvanized steel or stainless. The complete system specifies the cavity depth and infill: mineral wool of a given density, acoustic tissue, and an air gap that together set the absorption coefficient. We can supply facings only, or complete cassette panels with infill, backing and edge framing ready to install. Finishes include perforated-then-coated architectural surfaces. We provide target absorption coefficients (Class A-D / NRC) and will tune the build to your acoustic brief.
Perforated acoustic panels control noise across many settings. In architecture they form absorbing ceilings and wall linings in offices, auditoriums, airports, sports halls, schools and restaurants, where reverberation must be tamed without sacrificing a hard, durable surface. In industry they line machinery enclosures, generator and compressor housings, ductwork and engine rooms to cut equipment noise at source. In infrastructure, heavy galvanized acoustic panels build roadside and railway noise barriers and tunnel linings. Their fire resistance and cleanability also suit kitchens, pools and healthcare. Wherever soft absorbers would degrade but noise must still be absorbed, a tuned perforated metal panel delivers lasting acoustic performance.
Zhongman engineers acoustic panels to a performance target, not just to a hole pattern. Tell us the space, the noise problem and the absorption class you need, and we specify hole size, open area, infill and cavity to suit, supplying the calculated absorption data with the order. We manufacture micro-perforation cleanly at small diameters, then coat panels in architectural finishes without blocking the holes. Our cassette panels arrive with infill, backing and framing ready to clip into ceiling and wall systems, cutting site labor. For infrastructure projects we produce weatherproof galvanized barrier panels in volume. With both the acoustic know-how and the perforating capability in-house, we deliver panels that look right and measurably reduce noise.
