Description
Decorative and functional brass, bronze and copper wire mesh in plain and twill weaves. Prized for warm golden tone, conductivity and anti-spark properties, ideal for filtration, architecture, EMI shielding and faraday cages.
Brass and bronze wire mesh, together with pure copper cloth, forms the copper-alloy family of woven mesh, valued as much for its appearance as its function. Brass (a copper-zinc alloy) brings a warm golden hue, phosphor bronze adds spring temper and strength, and pure copper offers the highest electrical and thermal conductivity. Woven in plain or twill patterns from 4x4 coarse to 200x200 fine counts, these meshes serve where steel cannot: in decorative architecture, electromagnetic shielding, fine filtration of fuels and oils, and spark-free environments. The alloys are naturally corrosion resistant in many settings and develop an attractive patina over time. This combination of aesthetics, conductivity and specialty performance makes copper-alloy mesh a distinctive niche product.
We weave brass mesh from H65 and H68 alloys, phosphor bronze for higher strength and elasticity, and pure copper where conductivity is paramount. Plain weave handles general and decorative work, while twill weave allows finer apertures and heavier gauges for filtration. Wire diameters range from 0.05 mm fine filter wire to 1.6 mm architectural gauges, with apertures from 70 microns to 6 mm. The softer, ductile nature of copper alloys makes the cloth easy to form, pleat, emboss and shape into curves. Edges can be selvedged, soldered or framed. Because these are non-ferrous alloys, the mesh is naturally non-magnetic and resists rust, though finishes can be lacquered to preserve color or left to patina.
Copper-alloy mesh delivers a unique blend of properties unavailable in steel. Its warm metallic color and natural patina give designers a premium decorative material that ages with character. High electrical and thermal conductivity make copper and brass mesh excellent for EMI/RFI shielding, faraday cages, grounding and heat dissipation. The non-sparking, non-magnetic nature of the alloys suits explosive and flammable atmospheres where flame arrestors and anti-spark screens are required. Soft and ductile, the cloth forms easily into complex shapes for filters and instruments. Phosphor bronze adds spring strength and wear resistance for filtration under flexing. The alloys resist corrosion in air, fresh water and many chemicals, and copper's antimicrobial property is valued in hygienic settings.
Brass and bronze mesh spans decorative, technical and acoustic uses. Architects and interior designers specify it for cabinet grilles, partition screens, ceiling panels, lighting and luxury furniture inlays where its golden tone shines. In electronics it shields enclosures and rooms from electromagnetic interference and builds faraday cages. Phosphor bronze and brass filter cloth strains fuels, oils, inks and chemicals, and forms flame-arrestor and anti-spark screens for fuel handling. Musical instrument makers use fine brass mesh in speaker and amplifier grilles. The mesh also serves as conductive gasketing, battery and electrode screens, insect screening with a decorative edge, and laboratory and Bunsen-burner gauzes. Custom cut, formed and framed components are produced to order.
We supply copper-alloy mesh to exact alloy, weave, count and width with material certificates confirming composition. Customers select brass, phosphor bronze or pure copper, plain or twill weave, and gauge to suit decorative, conductive or filtration needs. Finishing options include bright polishing, lacquering to lock in color, antique or patina treatments, and soldered or framed edges for architectural panels. Fabrication covers die-cut discs and gaskets, rolled cylinders, pleated filter elements, embossed decorative panels and shielding enclosures. For filtration we offer calendered fine cloth with measured permeability. Whether the priority is a flawless decorative facade, a shielded electronics room or a spark-free filter screen, our copper-alloy line delivers material matched precisely to the application.
