Description

Product Introduction

Pre-crimped wire mesh with locked intersections for rigid, durable screens. Available in galvanized, stainless and high-carbon steel with mesh counts from 1x1 to 80x80, ideal for sieving, mining screens, fencing and architectural facades.

Overview

Crimped wire mesh is woven from pre-shaped wires that are bent (crimped) before weaving, creating wave-like undulations that lock each intersection firmly in place. This pre-crimping process produces a remarkably stable, rigid panel that resists shifting under load and vibration far better than plain woven cloth. Manufactured from galvanized steel, high-carbon spring steel, stainless steel or manganese steel, crimped mesh balances strength with a uniform, accurate aperture. The undulating surface also adds visual depth, making it equally popular for industrial screening and decorative work. Crimp depth, wire gauge and mesh count are all adjustable, letting fabricators tune the panel for heavy abrasion or fine grading. It remains one of the most versatile mesh families in the wire weaving industry.

Construction & Materials

The mesh is produced on heavy crimping looms where warp and weft wires are corrugated to precise wave profiles before interlocking. Double-crimp locks both directions for maximum aperture stability, intercrimp adds extra waves between intersections for fine apertures, and flat-top crimp leaves a smooth screening face for material flow. We weave from galvanized low-carbon wire for general use, 65Mn high-carbon spring steel for screens, 304/316 stainless for corrosion resistance, and 65Mn or manganese alloys for mining duty. Wire diameters from 0.5 mm to 12 mm and apertures from 0.2 mm to 100 mm cover everything from sand grading to rock screening. Each panel is checked for diagonal squareness and consistent crimp height before edge finishing.

Key Features & Advantages

The defining advantage of crimped mesh is dimensional stability: locked crimps keep openings accurate even after repeated impact, so grading tolerances hold over a long service life. The corrugated structure distributes stress across the panel, raising fatigue resistance against constant vibration. A wide selectable range of crimp styles lets users match panel rigidity to the job, from springy intercrimp filters to robust double-crimp rock screens. The mesh is easy to cut, hook-edge and tension onto screen decks without unraveling. Galvanizing or stainless construction delivers weather and rust resistance, while the textured surface improves grip and reduces material slippage. Panels are flat, easy to handle, and ship efficiently in stacks, lowering freight and installation cost on large projects.

Applications

Crimped wire mesh serves a broad spread of industries. In quarries and aggregate plants it is tensioned onto vibrating decks for sand, gravel and stone classification. Coal, ore and mineral processors rely on high-carbon and manganese crimped screens for abrasive sizing. Beyond screening, the mesh appears as security fencing infill, machine guards, animal enclosure panels and BBQ or oven grilling surfaces. Architects specify decorative crimped mesh for ceilings, facade cladding, partition screens and balustrade infill where the wave texture catches light. Food and industrial drying operations use stainless crimped panels for ventilated trays, and farms use galvanized panels for animal pens and grain dryers. Custom panel sizes, hooked edges and frames are available to suit each installation.

Quality & Customization

Every crimped mesh order is engineered to the customer's screening curve or aesthetic brief. We control crimp pitch, wave height, wire grade and aperture to deliver repeatable grading performance batch after batch. Panels can be supplied as flat sheets, rolls, or pre-fabricated with hook strips, side tensioning hooks, bolt holes or welded frames for direct deck mounting. Surface options include hot-dip galvanizing, electro-galvanizing, PVC coating and bright stainless finish. We perform aperture sampling, tensile checks and salt-spray testing on request and issue mill certificates with each shipment. Whether you need a single architectural panel or a container of mining screens, our looms and finishing lines scale to match your volume and tolerance requirements.
