Description
The industry's most widely used perforated sheet, featuring staggered round holes in steel, aluminum or stainless steel for ventilation, screening, filtration and general-purpose fabrication.
Round hole perforated metal is the most specified perforation pattern in the world, and for good reason: the circular opening distributes stress evenly around its circumference, giving the sheet excellent strength retention even at high open areas. Zhongman punches round holes on precision CNC and roller presses across carbon steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and stainless steel. A typical workhorse pattern is 1/4" round on 3/8" staggered centers, delivering 40% open area, but we routinely produce everything from fine 1/16" perforations to bold 3/4" holes. Sheets ship flat, in coil, or fabricated to size. Because the round-hole tooling library is so extensive, this product offers the shortest lead times and the broadest material availability in our perforated range.
The staggered 60° layout maximizes open area while keeping the bridge (the metal between holes) wide enough to preserve rigidity, so panels resist sagging and deflection. Burr-free punching and deburred edges mean the material is safe to handle and ready for powder coating or anodizing. Round holes drain water and shed debris better than slots, making them ideal for outdoor and washdown environments. Open area is highly predictable, which lets engineers calculate airflow, light transmission and acoustic behavior with confidence. We hold tight pitch tolerances of +/-0.005" so multiple sheets align perfectly when tiled across large facades or enclosures. Galvanized and stainless grades add corrosion resistance for decades of outdoor service.
Standard hole diameters run from 1.5 mm up to 19 mm, with center distances chosen to hit target open areas between roughly 23% and 63%. Common stock patterns include 3 mm holes on 5 mm staggered centers, 5 mm on 8 mm, and 1/4" on 3/8". Sheet thickness spans 26 gauge for light screens up to 3/16" plate for heavy machine guards. We supply popular sheet widths of 1000 mm, 1219 mm and 1500 mm with lengths to 6 m, plus margins (unperforated borders) for clean framing. Finishing options include hot-dip galvanizing, powder coat in any RAL color, anodizing for aluminum, and electropolishing for stainless. Custom diameters, mixed patterns and CAD-driven layouts are welcome.
Round hole perforated metal serves more industries than any other pattern. In HVAC and electronics it forms ventilation grilles and equipment enclosures; in food and pharmaceutical plants stainless versions become hygienic screens and basket strainers. Architects use it for sunshades, balustrade infill and signage backers, while OEMs build conveyor covers, fan guards and acoustic absorbers. Agriculture relies on it for grain and seed sizing screens, and the energy sector uses heavy-gauge sheet for walkways and battery enclosures. Its balance of strength, open area and easy fabrication makes it the default choice whenever a designer is unsure which pattern to specify.
Zhongman has manufactured perforated and woven metal for export markets for over two decades, and round hole sheet is our highest-volume line. We maintain hundreds of punching tools in stock, so most standard patterns require no tooling charge and ship within days. Our QC team inspects hole diameter, pitch, burr height and flatness on every batch, and we provide mill certificates and open-area calculations on request. Whether you need a single trial sheet or full containers for a construction project, we manage cutting, forming, coating and seaworthy packing in-house. English-speaking engineers help you translate a drawing or photo into a precise specification, removing guesswork from your sourcing.
